8 Waterbury Firefighters Sent to Hospital after Apparatus Crash

Eight firefighters of the Waterbury Fire Department were sent to the hospital after an engine company and truck company collided while responding to a reported kitchen fire on Saturday May 19th at approximately 10:30 am. The four members of both Engine Company 8 and Truck Company 1 were sent to area hospitals. Two of the Engine 8 members were reported to be in critical condition. Read the story as reported by WFSB-3 and view a photo slide show taken by the Waterbury Republican newspaper.

The fire they were responding to turned out to be food on the stove. All of the injured firefighters and their families are in the thoughts and prayers of the members of the Windsor Locks Fire Department.
