2007 Annual Carnival and Fireworks
The Windsor Locks Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual fund raising event on July 5,6 and 7. This is the largest event in town each year and attracts thousands of people from Windsor Locks and the surrounding area.
The carnival runs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and features rides, games, food, bingo and much more. Wrist bands for rides will be available all 3 nights! Ride all night for one price. Thursday night is POLKA NIGHT, featuring Lenny Gomulka and Chicago Push. The 12-time Grammy Nominated Polka band will be playing from 6-9 pm in the Beer Garden.
The highlight of the event is the annual fireworks display on Friday night. Our fireworks display receives rave reviews each year and is arguably the best local display in the area. This year's display launches at 9:30 pm. Free parking is available on the carnival grounds. Come early to get a parking spot! Parking is not allowed on the streets surrounding the carnival grounds. Additional parking is available at the Windsor Locks High School in the event the lot is full. The fireworks display is sponsored by local businesses. Check out the list of this year's sponsors.
The three day event ends on Saturday with the Annual Parade at 6:15 pm. The parade begins at the Public Safety Complex, proceeds west on Elm Street, left onto Southwest Ave and ends at the carnival grounds. The carnival will open immediately following the parade on Saturday.
