WLFD Hosting 2007 HCFEP Memorial Service

The Hartford County Fire Emergency Plan invites you to their Fifty- Seventh Annual Memorial Service on Sunday, October 14, 2007. This year?s Service will be hosted by the Windsor Locks Fire Department and will be in combination with their Department?s Annual Memorial Service. Firefighters, families, and friends are asked to join the Windsor Locks Fire Department in their Services at 1800 hours at the Memorial Bell in front of Fire Headquarters on Volunteer Drive.

Line up for the County Memorial Service will be at 1830 hours at Fire Headquarters followed by a short march to St. Robert Bellarmine Church on South Elm Street for Services. Services at St. Roberts will start at 1900 hours. A shuttle bus will be available to those who cannot march. All Firefighters are requested to be in Class A uniform. All Departments who have lost members due to death since last years service are asked to make sure those names are forwarded to Chet or Pat Haber by October 5 to be included in this years program. We are asking each Department whose members will be remembered in this years Service to invite the families of their deceased members.

DIRECTIONS to Windsor Locks Fire Department, 2 Volunteer Drive, Windsor Locks, Ct. (860-627-1468 Fire Headquarters):

From South (Hartford):
I-91 North to Exit 42. Turn left off exit onto Lawnacre Road. Keep straight on Lawnacre Road, becomes Rt. 159 South Main Street for approximately 1 mile. Take left on Elm Street (Rt. 140, Memorial Hall on corner) and continue for approximately 1 mile to the Public Safety Complex. Fire Headquarters is on your right at the corner of Elm Street and Volunteer Drive (large water tower on corner, cell tower behind Complex).

From West (Granby):
Rt. 20 East toward Bradley International Airport. Bear right on Bradley Field Connector. Take exit off Connector for Rt. 75, Ella T. Grasso Turnpike. Take a left off exit and head North on Rt. 75 for approximately 1 mile. Take a right at Elm Street, Rt. 140 (Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are on corner). Stay straight on Elm Street for approximately a mile, Public Safety Complex is on your left (large water tower on corner, cell tower behind Complex).

From East (Ellington):
Rt. 140 West to the Connecticut River. Once you cross the River on the Rt. 140 Bridge and the Canal Bridge turn left onto Main Street, Rt. 159. Take your next right onto Elm Street (Rt. 140, Memorial Hall on corner). Proceed west on Elm Street for approximately 1 mile to the Public Safety Complex. Fire Headquarters is on your right at the corner of Elm Street and Volunteer Drive (large water tower on corner, cell tower behind Complex).

From North (Springfield):
I-91 South to Exit 42, Main Street Rt. 159. Take a left off exit onto South Main Street Rt. 159 and continue north for approximately 1 mile. Take left on Elm Street (Rt. 140, Memorial Hall on corner) and continue for approximately 1 mile to the Public Safety Complex. Fire Headquarters is on your right at the corner of Elm Street and Volunteer Drive (large water tower on corner, cell tower behind Complex).
