On Thursday at 11:46am, the Windsor Locks Fire Department was called to the rear of the Windsor Locks High School for a large amount of smoke reported. The first arriving fire officer discovered a large brush fire in the woods behind the school parking lot. The gusty winds carried the smoke towards the South Elementary School. It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to extinguish the fire. A brush truck was called in from Warehouse Point Fire Department to assist.
Fire broke out shortly before 4pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 27 Greenview Ln. The first arriving fire officer reported a working structure fire. It took around an hour to get the blaze under control in the single story residence. Mutual Aid was called to the scene from Bradley Int'l Airport and the Warehouse Point FD provided coverage for Windsor Locks during the blaze. The fire is under invesitgation by the Windsor Locks Fire Marshal's Office.
Firefighters responded to 16 King Spring Rd on Sunday evening for a report of a vehicle fire. First arriving officer found two vehicles burning in the rear of an auto repair shop. The fires were extinguished and no one was injured.
