Fire Prevention & Fire Marshal's Office

Windsor Locks Fire Marshal's Office - 860.627.1467

Fire Prevention week is held each year in October to bring fire safety and prevention tips to the public and specifically to children. The Windsor Locks Fire Marshal's office conducts visits to schools in town during that week to bring awareness to children who in turn bring the information home to their families. Things such as the importance of smoke detectors, escape plans and "Stop, drop and roll" are taught.

Are You Ready For An Emergency?

  • Do you have a smoke detector on every level of your home?
  • Do you have a smoke detector in every bedroom of your home?
  • Do you have an escape plan that everyone in your family knows and has practiced?
  • Have you tested or changed the batteries in your smoke detectors in the last 6 months?
