Fire Prevention week is held each year in October to bring fire safety and prevention tips to the public and specifically to children. The Windsor Locks Fire Marshal's office conducts visits to schools in town during that week to bring awareness to children who in turn bring the information home to their families. Things such as the importance of smoke detectors, escape plans and "Stop, drop and roll" are taught.
"Kids, Click on me to meet Sparky the Fire Dog."
The Fire Commission holds a public meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at 19:30 hrs at Fire Headquarters.
