Name: Spencer Bauch Comments To whom it may concern, I met Chief Jeffery in mid part of 1996 through a friend who just got on the job at the Submarine Base Fire Department. Since then I would only see and here how he was doing through friends of his who I now. Each time I heard what he was doing, I was always inspired. He gave me a moment of his time that one day and it was as if him and I were friends for years. His voice or courage and confidence and appreciation to all made you feel comfortable having conversation. I was able to see him this past summer, I attended a badge pinning to see one of my friends who just was hired receive his badge. A/C Jeffery's as I always remembered him, was there and with his smile which comforted and gave joy to the ceremony. I would like to truly say that he was a FIREMAN'S FRIEND. I am currently a Lieutenant for the East Brooklyn Fire Department, Brooklyn, CT. Name: Jason Pollard Comments My deepest condolences to the Jeffery's family. I spent 3 of my greatest years working under Kenny at the Submarine Base Fire Department. He was an amazing guy to work for, always there for the guys. I think Jeff Rheaume hit it right on the head, we will never be able to replace Chief Jeffery's as a person or a boss. Everybody will miss him, but nobody will forget him.
Name: Wally Latall Comments My thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy go out to Kenny’s family, friends and fellow firefighters at Windsor Locks and the Subase Fire Department. I have great and fond memories of Kenny with the Subase Fire Department when I served with them as Security Officer in the early nineties. Kenny’s great sense of humor and funny jokes always lifted spirits of all those around him. His outstanding leadership and camaraderie amongst his firefighters was most impressive. Kenny, in my eyes, and I am sure in the eyes of many many others, was truly an icon. We always kept in touch by phone over the years and I will now miss that greatly. Name: FF/EMT Peter F. Woodbury Comments My deepest and sincerest condolences to Kenny's family & members of WLFD. Kenny was my Asst Chief at SBFD He was a talented fire officer..."One of the Best!" and he was a great friend and boss! I will miss him dearly.
Name: Heather Van Allen Comments Kenny was one of the most wonderful people I've ever met. He was an excellent chief that truly cared about his guys. I was always able to turn to him for advice and for a kind word... he was a true friend. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
Name: Jeffrey Rheaume Comments Nobody will ever be able to replace Kenny Jeffery. He was a firefighters Chief. I will always remember things he said like "don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff" and "a good firefighter is a well rested firefighter" (said one night before we hit the racks). I know he was a huge asset to the SBFD and just as important to the WLFD. I have talked to so many people that know him and have never heard a bad word spoken about him. Keep up the good work with the website and continue to make Kenny proud by being into the fire service and caring as much about it as he did.
Name: Stephen Lougee Comments To the Officers and Members of the Windsor Locks Fire Department. I'm sorry for your loss. I worked with Chief Jeffery @the Submarine Base Fire Department. He was very good to me and has helped my career. We talked many hours about the Fire service and the Yankees. The brothers at the SBFD share the pain that you guys are feeling.
