Technical Rescue Team

About The Technical Rescue Team

The Windsor Locks Fire Department began confined space rescue training in 1997 and in 2000 the Confined Space Rescue Team was officially formed. Members volunteered to be a part of this specialized team. These firefighters put extra time into training above and beyond the minimum required fire department training. Since then, the Technical Rescue Team has expanded into other areas of technical rescue. Some team members are now certified in Ice and Cold Water Rescue, Hazmat Technician, Trench Rescue and in the future we plan to have trained members in Low Angle Rescue.
