Fire Apparatus
T
he Windsor Locks Fire department was organized in the year 1890. That year the town purchased 1000′ feet of hose to be used on the department’s newly acquired 1875 hand-drawn hose reel. Below are two newspaper photos from the early 1960s that include the hose cart. Today we operate a number of modern motorized apparatus containing the latest engineering and safety features. Shown below is our current fleet of fire apparatus and we also have a photo gallery of some Past Apparatus at the bottom of this page.
